I tried that too, but ran around in circles. You may want to check jackd
settings. Check if it is selected for driver ALSA and change it to OSS. Some
times that works. It does not harm your system to install the realtime kernel,
but as I said I hosed down Ubie studio and just ran Ubie instead. I installed
all the music programs myself and they all work fine with jackd. All Ubie studio
is a gloryfied version of Ubie and installs all the music programs for you. I
felt it pretty much sucks, but that is me.
