I don't have that printer and am just flying blind here... there are
Kubuntu drivers for lots of other Canon LBP models in the Add printers
utility. Have you tried one just before or after your model number to
see if it will work? Other than that, and since you are presumably
using the same able with Windows, I can't think of anything else to
try.

There is a paid version of Gutenprint (sp?) that might work, but it's about $50.
