Hibernate and Suspend are now working on my
laptops running 8.04. Is the new kernel included
in these new release that makes it to work. It does not
work flawlessly but at least it comes back to life.
The wireless does not come back to life automatically,
which is fixed by taking the PCMCIA card out and then
back in, followed by restarting the network interface
(ifdown and ifup).

This problem has been one of the most difficult to
fix and overcome on linux distributions. We are getting
there...hang on!
