I seem to remember in my deitel and deitel book there was a decent chapter on
jdbc. well, it worked for me, i just copied the example and changed the
parameters to work for me. incidentally, it's a book worth buying if u want to
learn java, atleast, it worked for me.

yep i just checked it. it's chapter 18 in java how to program by deitel and
deitel. (3rd ed - but there is a new one now).

if you dont want to buy it the code is probably online somewhere.
