some different answers are given to
the clain of microsoft but surely they have not covered every aspect of
the problem.
Petstore is not meant to be an educational application also it is not
nice and clean in every tier. If sombody delves into depth of the code
he/she can learn a lot from ideas behind it as well as its failures.
Comparison of Microsoft was not quite fair and it didn't talk about all
aspects but I should say that some parts of JPS fit into that "Over
Engineering" or "Over Design" word of you ARA.
Lack of enough evidence is quite clear. I have installed JPS on different
application servers :
- Reference Implementation of SUN (J2SDKEE, different versions)
- BEA Weblogic 6.0 , 6.1
- Orion 1.5.2, 1.5.3
- Borland (Inprise) Application Server
and with Oracle 8.1.6 (OCI, some parts Thin), Cloudscape(different
versions) databases.
May somebody skillful join me in some real word Web Stressing,
Connection, Hardware benchmark implementation and architecture performance
tunning afterwards scheduled for a couple of days or so?
