preparedstatement VS statement

i still not clearly enough when we use PreparedStatement and
Statement.
From all my understanding now is we dont need to construct new statement if
we use preparedstatement everytime.
But i dont know it is wrong or not .. or maybe is there any reason ?
Or any link that explain about this issue ?
