merging cells

Date: Dec 07    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 369

I find myself in a quick mess of needing to fix someones spread sheet.
I have about 2000 entries that are in two and three columns (two sets)
and I need to combine them each into one column.

Is this possible?

Not sure exactly what you're talking about without seeing. I've used Excel and
Openoffice and they are really similar. If you have a smaller example, maybe a
few entries with the same type of columns setup, you could send to me, I'd be
glad to check it out and see what it would take. Should be easy enough. Be sure
and tell how you want the new one set up.

I got it. It was super easy --- I was just not thinking clearly.

A B C
First Last = full name

I wanted column A (firstname) and column B (lastname) to be pulled
together into column C = firstname lastname.

It was as easy as =A1&" "B1& in the C column.
