iPod Touch

Date: Dec 09    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 302

I'm considering buying an iPod Touch. My home computer runs Ubuntu 8.04 and the
laptop runs Mint 6. Is there something in the repositories that I can use to
sync the ipod? Does iTunes run in Wine? What's the best way to go.
The main thing that I want to use the touch for is reading text files copied
from the computer.
Here in rural Alabama they still laugh at me when I ask about DSL so I'm stuck
with dial up. That means that I don't have wifi available and my only way to get
anything into the touch would be through the computer.

Yes, there are programs to sync an iPod, and for managing pictures on an iPod.
As well, when you plug it in, it looks like a disk drive, so you can copy files
to it manually.

I doubt if any of them work for the iPod Touch, with other iPods no problem.
I tried several with no success. Apple has taken special measures to ensure
it's security.
