I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I'm also in an area where dial up is the
only option. The problem I'm having is that from time to time some
process running in the background will take up all my bandwidth. My
connection will grind to a halt until it finishes.
I've got a box for System Monitor on the top panel and it will tell me
what processes are running but I can't ever find what's using my
internet connection.
Is there anything I've got installed or can find with Synaptic that
will tell me what is using my internet connection and maybe let me
stop it?
