does anyone know of a program that is equal to coreldraw for ubuntu as this is
the only problem i have

Its been years since I used Draw but, you might check out Inkscape. I
have grown very fond of it.

It depends on what you are doing. For photo work use the GIMP and for vector
drawing use Inkscape.
