I just had to reload the windows portion of my dual bootsystem. I would like to be able to bring up a live CDversion of Xubuntu 12.04 and execute a program tocreate a new grub in the boot loader without reloadingthe Xubuntu OS, can I do that?
Try this:https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/grub#TOC-Restore-Grub-the-Win\dows-CD-has-overwritten-Grub-
I will book mark this as I seem to need to reload my windows partitionquite often for various reasons.
Long before this I was faced with a booting problem and discoveredboot-repair-disk. It's free and fixes every situation I've ever encounteredperfectly. It claims to do it in one click but worst case situation is thatit takes multiple clicks through reasonably clear menus.Just search for boot repair disk.
Thank you, I am downloading it now and will keep it close.
It has saved my bacon many times, and very quickly too.
