Codeweavers Crossover

Date: Dec 14    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 238

I signed up for that Lame Duck thing and got the email today. I downloaded
the software. I have a couple of programs that I use on my laptop when I
travel. One is Datapilot, which is cell phone software. The other is OBDScan
which is software to connect the laptop to the car with a cable for onboard
diagnostics.

What do you use it for?

I'd like to use Crossover to install MS Streets and Trips on my MSI Wind,
but I don't think it's supported. I don't think there is anything comparable
in the Linux world.

Paint Shop Pro isn't supported but it installed beautifully with the
win98 bottle. I had to install IE6 program to get the Win98 bottle
though.

I tried to install Datapilot, but it didn't work. I like your idea of
installing a supported program to get the bottle.

Crossover works great for yBook and Tom's ebook reader; wine alone doesn't cut
it. Also, IE6 (Web design) as well as the Proxomitron in Ubuntu.

For that I would use a full emulation like VirtualBox or VMWare.
