I have a Windows application program that the author (A REAL PRO)
wrote in
Visual Basic. The program occasionally stops responding. The only
way to recover is to log off. When I log off I ALWAYS get a message
that AWT Toolkit has stopped responding. I have to ok the ending of
the AWT Toolkit Program.

IF I REMOVE JAVA FROM MY SYSTEM, I NEVER get the problem with the
other program.
I also have problems clicking on a link in an HTML email from time
to time. It hangs and never respodns. THIS TOO does not happen if I
remove Java. I am using Sun 1.4 downloaded early December, Windows
XP-Pro.
I have all the latest service packs and updates on the system and
have run System File Checker followed by Windows Update.


I have another system and I have not seen the error on that system.
