I think his problem is the same as one I had to deal with.
I wrote an application for use WITHIN MY COMPANY.
In my case, I wanted the users to be able to write out the final spreadsheet
in PDF format so that the report "image" was fixed and could not be modified
(ok... they still could find a way, but at least not as simply as changing the
excel
data).
Anyway, the recommendation I was given was using Acrobat distiller.
but, in order to do that, I would have to have it installed in 140 PC's...
not gonna happen.
I had installed a third-party "shareware" package on my machine for testing
purposes, but again, not only would it have to be installed on each machine,
the network admins wouldn't ALLOW it to be installed on each machine.
(I got away with it because I'm "Special".. ok.. I'm on a "Development"
platform)
So, again.. I'm stuck with trying to do something with standard MicroSoft Office
tools...
I think he's in the same boat... he's not "selling" his work to the "users"
because
essentially, they're the ones that paid him to write it1....
so.. he's back to: how do I get it to work...
